Yahoo said it expects the move to grow its audience 50% to more than 1 billion monthly visitors. Tumbler's network currently features about 50 billion blog posts, with 75 million more added each day. Tumblr will continue to operate as an independent business under the direction of CEO David Karp. The company plans to use the proceeds to grow its marketing and customer service teams, as well as expand its developer relations team. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company said it plans to relocate its nine-member staff to Twitter's headquarters in San Francisco. "Every time we've experimented and looked beyond local discovery, we've been amazed by the breadth and quality of content shared on Twitter," Spindle wrote on its blog. The company plans to use the proceeds to build out its platform, accelerate its product roadmap and grow its staff. FitStar in early June released its initial app, "FitStar: Tony Gonzalez." The app features the NFL tight end in an interactive workout that acts as a personal training session. The company plans to release several more apps featuring a range of experts and personalities.
