San Francisco -- Livefyre, the San Francisco-based developer of a platform that lets brands integrate real-time social content into their websites, apps and ads, said on Monday that it has acquired San Francisco-based Storify, whose platform helps users sift through massive amounts of social content surrounding news events to create multimedia stories. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. It marks the first acquisition for Livefyre since its launch in 2009. Livefyre said it plans to integrate Storify into its StreamHub platform. o
Report: Rate of IT Job Growth Slows in August

Alexandria, Va. -- The rate of IT job growth in the U.S. slowed in August, according to new figures from the TechServe Alliance, a collaboration of IT firms, clients, consultants and suppliers. The organization said jobs in the industry grew 0.15% for the month, and now stand at 4.5 million. "While the deceleration is no doubt attributable to multiple factors, an inadequate supply of qualified IT talent remains a key reason," said Mark Roberts, CEO of the TechServe Alliance. On a year-over-year basis, IT employment has grown 5.9% since July 2012, adding 251,900 workers.
