The deal is expected to close by the end of April, when Lightwire's employees will be integrated into Cisco's Transceiver Modules Group Business Unit and Supply Chain Operations Group. Cisco said the acquisition will give it access to low-power CMOS photonics technology, helping it deliver high-speed networks with the next generation of optical connectivity. Investors included Mitsui Global Investment (MGI), Total Energy Ventures, 3M, TEL Venture Capital, Commercial Energy of California, Oceanshore Ventures and US Invest. She succeeds Alan Davidson, who left the company in November.
