The National Association for the Deaf had accused the company of skirting federal disability laws by failing to offer the service on its videos available for instant viewing. An Illinois woman filed the suit in the U.S. District Court in Northern California, claiming the online professional network failed to live up to its own privacy policy. A spokeswoman for LinkedIn called the claims "without merit." The new offer values Ramtron at $91.4 million, up from the $87.5 million offer Cypress made earlier this month. "Although we continue to seek a negotiated agreement with Ramtron, we are committed to pursuing our $2.68 per share cash offer and will take all necessary steps to complete it," wrote T.J. Rodgers, the president and CEO of Cypress. "Our offer can be completed quickly, and we urge Ramtron’s stockholders to promptly tender their shares." In response, Ramtron said its board plans to review the latest offer and make a recommendation within 10 business days.
