o Santa Clara-Based Agilent to Split into Two Separate Companies

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Agilent Technologies, the Santa Clara-based measurement technology company, said on Thursday that it plans to separate into two publicly traded companies. One company, to retain the Agilent name, will focus on the life sciences, diagnostics and applied markets. The other, still unnamed company will be made up of Agilent's current portfolio of electronic measurement products. "Agilent has evolved into two distinct investment and business opportunities, and we are creating two separate and strategically focused enterprises to allow each to maximize its growth and success," said Bill Sullivan, Agilent's president and CEO. The separation is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. Sullivan will continue as the president and CEO of Agilent, while Ron Nersesian, Agilent's current executive vice president, will be president and CEO of the new company.

o Mountain View-Based Blue Jeans Network Raises $50 Million in Funding

Mountain View, Calif. -- Blue Jeans Network, a Mountain View-based developer of cloud-based video conferencing services, said it has landed $50 million in a new round of funding, led by Battery Ventures. Previous backers Accel Partners, New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Norwest Venture Partners also took part in the round, which will help the company expand both in the U.S. and overseas, as well as bolster product development activities. Blue Jeans, which now has raised nearly $100 million since its inception, is planning to open a new office in San Francisco, as well as launch operations in Europe and Australia. The company said that more than 3 million participants from customers such as Edelman, Facebook, Match.com, Noble Energy, Opower and Stanford University have conducted nearly 2 million meetings using its service.

San Francisco -- NewVoiceMedia, a San Francisco-based developer of cloud contact center tools, said on Thursday it has raised $35 million in its third round of funding, led by new investor Bessemer Venture Partners. Previous backers Highland Capital Partners Europe, Eden Ventures and Notion Capital also participated in the round, which will help fuel the company's international growth following the recent opening of its new regional headquarters in North America and the Asia-Pacific. NewVoiceMedia currently boast more than 200 clients, including Topcon, PhotoBox, DPD, Lumesse, QlikTech, Cunningham Lyndsey, SHL Group and Parcelforce.

The company said it will use the funds to scale operations and accelerate its expansion. Deliv utilizes a technology platform to manage a community of on-demand drivers. The platform incorporates smart routing and lets shoppers watch the progress of their delivery on a map in real time. The company recently partnered with shopping mall operator General Growth Properties to offer same-day delivery service to all of its retailers nationwide,

San Francisco -- BuildingIQ, a San Francisco-based developer of energy management software, on Thursday named Michael Nark as its new president and CEO. He succeeds company founder Michael Zimmerman, who will assume the role of senior vice president of business development. Nark most recently served as the president and CEO of Power Analytics, and earlier was the president and CEO of Prenova and GEOCOMtms. BuildingIQ's software is designed to actively predict and manage HVAC loads in commercial buildings. (Oakland) Oakland-based Internet radio service Pandora late Wednesday priced a follow-on offering that's expected to generate $455 million. The company will sell 13 million shares for $25 each, with current stockholders selling another 5.2 million shares. The offering is expected to close next Tuesday.
