Financial terms of the deal, expected to close later this quarter, were not disclosed. Verizon said the acquisition will accelerate its plans to offer new video services to mobile devices. "The critical factor in gaining efficient access to content is based on your ability to scale quickly in subscribers and end users, which is why selling these assets to Verizon makes perfect sense, with its millions of FiOS network and wireless customers," said Brian Krzanich, the CEO of Intel. "This sale also enables Intel to further align our focus and resources around advancing our broad computing product portfolio in segments ranging from the Internet-of-Things to data centers." The company will use the proceeds primarily to establish sales and marketing operations and develop vertical tools for areas such as e-retail. Qubell said its cloud-based technology create a "conveyor belt" that carries changes to code, configuration or middleware through all stages of the release pipeline. All told, more than 60% of those surveyed said they use at least one location-sharing app on their smartphone, and 36% say they use two or more. In addition, 41% of adults said they are more willing to share their location today, compared with five years ago. Participants overwhelmingly cited safety as the primary reason they are willing to share their location, particularly with family.
