o Intel Signs Three-Year Deal to Bring VR to Major League Baseball Games

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Intel, the Santa Clara-based chipmaker, on Thursday announced a three-year partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) to bring virtual reality experiences to baseball fans. Under the deal, the company will livestream one weekly out-of-market game every Tuesday through its True VR app, in addition to featuring post-game highlights and on-demand replays of each game. The live game will use an array of 4K-resolution cameras, allowing users to control their vantage point by selecting from up to four camera angles a game or a produced VR broadcast experience. Viewers also will have access to live player and team statistics throughout the game, and will hear exclusive in-app commentary. The experience will be available free of charge -- beginning June 6 -- through the Intel True VR app using a Samsung Gear VR headset. "Our partnership with Intel will keep MLB at the forefront of technological innovation for our fans, bringing them closer to the action," said Kenny Gersh, the executive vice president of business at MLB Advanced Media.

o San Francisco-Based StreamSets Raises $20 Million in Second Round

San Francisco -- StreamSets, the San Francisco-based developer of an enterprise data operations platform, said it has raised $20 million in its second round of funding from venture capital firms Accel Partners, Battery Ventures and New Enterprise Associates (NEA). The company said it will use the proceeds for market expansion in North America and Europe, as well as to accelerate the delivery of new capabilities in its platform components. StreamSets' platform is designed to help users build, monitor and evolve their data movement architectures. Co-founder and CEO Girish Pancha said the technology acts as "air traffic control" for all of a company's dataflows, "making it possible to build data-driven applications faster and control the timeliness and quality of the data from a single point." In the 20 months since its public launch, the platform has surpassed 250,000 open source downloads, and the company saw an eight-fold increase in year-over-year revenue in its most recent quarter.

o San Francisco-Based Concord Raises $3.7 Million in First Round

San Francisco -- Concord, the San Francisco-based developer of a contract management platform, said it has raised $3.7 million in its first round of funding, led by Alven Capital. Previous backers Streamlined Ventures, Bruno Deschamps and Thibault Poutrel also participated in the round, which the company will use to bolster its marketing and sales organizations. The news follows rapid growth for Concord, where has seen its user base expand 400% in the 19 months since its seed funding. Founded in 2015, Concord has developed technology designed to let clients connect all of their people, processes and contracts on one platform. Features include online negotiation and editing, deadline alerts and approval workflows. "What most companies miss is that contracts aren't documents, they're relationships and they need to be managed for their entire lifecycle as such," said CEO Matt Lhoumeau. "This is a massive untapped market." The company also has named Ryan Ward and Travis Bickham as director of sales and vice president of marketing, respectively. Ward is the former head of enterprise sales at Signifyd, and Bickham is the former head of enterprise marketing at Tradeshift.
