o Pleasanton-based Ellie Mae Completes its Acquisition of Velocify

Pleasanton, Calif. -- Ellie Mae, a platform for the mortgage finance industry, announced on Monday that it has completed its acquisition of Velocify, a sales management platform. The deal was originally announced on Aug. 31. The acquisition brings together two major mortgage technologies with the aim of offering a fully digital mortgage service. Ellie Mae said it will provide financial details on the deal when it reports its third quarter results.

o Santa Clara-based ServiceNow Acquires San Diego-Based Telepathy

Santa Clara, Calif. -- ServiceNow, a Santa Clara-based developer of technology for managing customer service and help desks, announced that it has acquired Telepathy, a San Diego-based design studio. ServiceNow said the addition of Telepathy will enhance the customer experience on its platform. Financial terms of the deal were not released. "ServiceNow chose us because of the design culture and process we have created over the last 17 years, not just the client work and deliverables we have produced," wrote Telepathy founder Chuck Longanecker. "They valued the design tribe we have created and the soul of our culture that we had fought so hard to preserve."

o TechCrunch: San Francisco-based Angaza Raises $10.5 Million in Second Round

San Francisco -- TechCrunch reported on Monday that San Francisco-based Angaza, a pay-as-you-go software developer for energy usage for the developing world, has raised $10.5 million in its second round. Laurene Powell Jobs' Emerson Collective led the round. Other investors included Rethink Impact, Salesforce Ventures, Social Capital, and the Stanford StartX Fund. Angaza has now raised a total of $16 million.

o Hughes Launching Satellite Internet Service in Colombia

Germantown, Md. -- Hughes Network Systems, the broadband satellite company, announced on Monday the launch of its high-speed satellite Internet service in Colombia. This is the company's second international deployment of its consumer service beyond North America. The service, which just launched, is expected to reach 75% of Colombia's population.
