o Campbell-Based Barracuda Networks to Go Private in $1.6 Billion Deal

Campbell, Calif. -- Barracuda Networks, a Campbell-based provider of cloud-enabled security and data protection services, said on Monday it will go private though a $1.6 billion acquisition by San Francisco-based private equity firm Thoma Bravo. The deal, for $27.55 a share, is expected to close by the end of February. "We believe the proposed transaction offers an opportunity for us to accelerate our growth," said CEO BJ Jenkins. "This transaction speaks to the value and strength of Barracuda's security platform, which helps customers protect and manage their networks, applications, and data. I expect that our employees, customers and partners will benefit from this partnership." Barracuda will operate as a privately held company with a continued focus on email security and management, network and application security, and data protection tools that can be deployed in cloud and hybrid environments.
