o Yahoo Board to Examine Incorrect Biographical Information of CEO

Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Yahoo's board of directors has issued a statement that it will look into the disclosure that the professional biography of its CEO, Scott Thompson, incorrectly stated that he earned a computer science degree from Stonehill College. He did not earn a computer science degree, but instead earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. The improper information was on the company's website, and also appeared in various regulatory filings. Meanwhile, activist shareholder Third Point LLC, which owns a large stake in Yahoo, continues to use the latest disclosure to call for the ouster of Thompson. "Irreparable damage to Yahoo's culture will continue every day that the board allows Mr. Thompson and Ms. Hart to remain at the helm of the company after having clearly demonstrated that they lack even the 'minimum qualifications' for service as a director of the company," wrote Daniel Loeb, CEO of Third Point LLC.

You've lost your job. Now what? The way people react to unemployment varies from angry and frustrated to sad and depressed. For many workers, there is also the desire to take immediate action and go on the offensive to get hired as quickly as possible. After all, it is better to be proactive than reactive, right? Not necessarily. Stephen A. Laser, a business psychologist and author of Out-of-Work and Over-40, suggests you need to take some time to regroup and make a plan.
