He did not earn a computer science degree, but instead earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. The improper information was on the company's website, and also appeared in various regulatory filings. Launched in 2010 as a group payments system for friends and family, WePay now offers a wider range of services designed to help merchants collect money. The company said this is a "growth round" and that the funds will be used "across the board" to expand its technology and workforce.
