Neither company has publicly confirmed the deal. The acquisition would bolster Microsoft's cloud computer offerings, as well as expand the company's reach into the corporate IT market. The news comes more than three months after Yammer raised $85 million in its fifth round of funding, led by DFJ Growth. Investors in Tandem Fund II include Doug Bergeron, the CEO of Verifone; Dan Cooperman, former general counsel of Apple; Ram Shriram, a founding board member at Google; Playdom founder Rick Thompson; Dan Warmenhoven, the chairman of NetApp; and several others. Founded by tech veterans Doug Renert and Sunil Bhargava, Tandem provides early-stage mobile companies with $200,000 in funding, along with workspace and mentoring. "Tandem's accelerator program is highly selective and focuses on only a small group of truly exceptional teams," said Renert. "Think of our accelerator like a small liberal arts college where you get to know your professors, as opposed to the large public university where you're taking each course along with 300 other students." The company is paying $5.12 a share under the deal, which still requires regulatory approval in France and Germany. The move decreases Starboard's stake in the company from 5.6% to 4.9% -- just below the threshold requiring public disclosure. All told, Starboard sold 425,000 shares for $25.57 each. On Thursday, shareholders re-elected all eight members of AOL's board. Signal" -- detected by SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) 35 years ago. "If The Wow!
