The agreement involves patents primarily related to 3G, LTE and 802.11 technologies. "These patents will support Intel's strategic investments in the mobile segment," said Doug Melamed, Intel's senior vice president and general counsel. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Qualcomm said the acquisition will significantly bolster its power management roadmap, allowing it to address a broader set of customers and complex design challenges. All employees of Summit have joined Qualcomm's CDMA Technologies division.
