Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Accuray, a Sunnyvale-based developer of technology used in radiation oncology, said on Monday it will pay approximately $5.7 million to acquire Morphormics, a North Carolina-based developer of software designed to automatically recognize and extract anatomical structures from medical images. In 2008, Accuray began licensing Morphormics' autocontouring technology, which automatically identifies and draws the boundaries of the prostate and surrounding critical structures. o Report: Rate of Information Technology Job Growth Slows in June

Alexandria, Va. -- The rate of job growth in the U.S. information technology sector slowed in June, according to new figures from the TechServe Alliance, a collaboration of IT services firms, clients, consultants and suppliers. The organization said the number of IT jobs grew by only a net 1,500 to 4.18 million during the month. Still, IT jobs are up more than 117,000 -- or about 2.9% -- from a year ago. "I would be careful about reading too much into the decline in the rate of growth in a single month," said Mark Roberts, CEO of the TechServe Alliance. "Given the dynamic nature of the labor market for IT professionals, there will be an inevitable ebb and flow of monthly numbers. Based on the longer-term trend line as well as the anecdotal reports of my member companies, demand for IT professionals remains strong.".
