Penguin founders Reuven Moskowitz and Josh Friedman, along with the rest of the company's team, will establishing Shutterfly's new technology center in New York. Penguin Digital launched an iPhone app in January called Mobile Photo Factory, or MoPho for short. The app allows users to create physical prints and photo based merchandise such as iPhone and iPad cases, mugs, key chains, apparel and canvas prints. The Cupertino-based company said the higher-than-expected demand will force it to ship many of the units to customers in October, instead of the originally announced shipping date of Sept. 21. "The customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing. Customers were able to begin pre-ordering the phone online early Friday. The new model will be available at 356 Apple retail stores in the U.S. beginning at 8 a.m. local time on Sept. 21.
