The Cupertino-based company on Tuesday sent out press invitations (available at the link below, courtesy of GameZone) that showed the top of its iconic white apple logo against a colorful backdrop, with the words "We've got a little more to show you." The device, already dubbed by most media outlets as the "iPad Mini," is widely expected to be priced in the $200-$250 range, putting it head-to-head with smaller tablets such as Amazon's Kindle Fire and Google's Nexus 7. Some analysts believe the company is primed to introduce other new products, as well. "We believe Apple will unveil [the] iPad Mini on 10/23 along with a 13-inch Retina Macbook," wrote Jefferies analyst Peter Misek in a research note. Intertrust Technologies led the round, which also included participation from private investors including Fredrik Astrup, Lars Erik Baustad, Marek Kiisa and Ivar Siimar. Founded in February, the startup -- which has a development team in Estonia -- already has aggregated and organized over 1.2 billion measurements from more than 24,000 ocean-borne devices. The news comes as the firm, which currently has U.S. offices in Menlo Park, the Washington, DC area and New York, has led a $35 million investment in Braintree, a Chicago-based provider of online and mobile payment technology.
