The Cupertino-based company said that demand for the more-expensive 5s already has exceeded initial supply, leading to shipping delays for many online orders. "The demand for the new iPhones has been incredible, and while we've sold out of our initial supply of iPhone 5s, stores continue to receive new iPhone shipments regularly," CEO Tim Cook said in a statement. "We appreciate everyone's patience." The faster 5s, which includes a fingerprint security sensor, starts at $199, while the cheaper 5c, available in five colors, starts at $99. Matrix Partners led the round, which included participation by angels including Jason Seats, the founder of Slicehost, and Andy McLoughlin, the founder of Huddle. The company plans to use a portion of the funds to expand its engineering division.
