o San Francisco-Based Sojern Raises $10 Million in Third Round

San Francisco -- Sojern, the San Francisco-based developer of a traveler engagement platform, said on Tuesday it has landed $10 million in its third round of funding, led by Triangle Peak Partners. Previous backers Norwest Venture Partners, Trident Capital, Focus Ventures and Industry Ventures also participated in the round, which the company will use to bolster its platform and hire commercial, engineering and data science talent. Sojern on Tuesday also announced Curtis Atkisson as its new CFO. Atkisson was previously the co-founder of Affinity Labs, which was acquired by Monster in 2008. Sojern currently has more than 500 travel customers, including American Airlines, American Express, Avis|Budget Group, Choice, Enterprise, Hertz, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Las Vegas Tourism, Marriott, Microsoft, Samsonite, Starwood, United and US Airways.

o San Francisco-Based CloudFlare Reveals $50 Million Funding Round

San Francisco -- A year after closing the round, San Francisco-based CloudFlare, developer of a network designed to automatically speed the delivery of web pages while protecting users from attacks, revealed on Tuesday that it raised $50 million in its third round of funding. Union Square Ventures and Greenspring Associates co-led the round, which also included participation from previous backers NEA, Pelion Venture Partners and Venrock. The company said it has doubled its customer count to more than 1.5 million, and increased its year-over-year revenue by 450%. CloudFlare said it plans to continue that expansion in 2014 with new data center locations in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and China.

San Jose, Calif. -- Integrated Device Technology (IDT), the developer of mixed-signal semiconductors, on Tuesday named Greg Waters as its new president and CEO, effective Jan. 6. He will succeed Jeff McCreary, who has served as interim CEO since August. McCreary will remain a board member. Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Kaleidescape, a Sunnyvale-based maker of movie servers for the home, on Tuesday named Tom Furlong as its new CEO. He succeeds founder Michael Malcolm, who will continue to serve as chairman. Furlong most recently built a cloud-based messaging service for Nokia, and previously served as the COO of Kiyon and senior vice president of marketing, engineering and operations at SonicWall. "Tom is the perfect individual to take our products to a wider audience," said Malcolm. Kaleidescape's systems allow customers to select and watch Blu-ray and DVD-quality downloaded movies at home. The company recently launched Cinema One, its first product designed for retail distribution.

o Velti Selects Winning Bidder for Sale of Mobile Marketing Business

San Francisco -- Velti, an Irish developer of mobile marketing and advertising technology with U.S. headquarters in San Francisco, said on Tuesday that GSO Capital Partners submitted the lone qualified bid for its mobile marketing business in a bankruptcy auction. The bid now will be presented to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for approval. A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 20. Velti is operating its U.S. operations as debtors-in-possession under the protection of the U.S. bankruptcy laws, while its operations in the U.K., Greece, China, Brazil, India, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and other jurisdictions are continuing normal business operations.
