The investment was part of a $30 million second round of funding for the company, which has a business office in Berkeley. The organization's CEO Economic Outlook Index increased to 84.5 in the fourth quarter, up from 79.1 a quarter ago, with expectations for 2014 GDP growth remaining at 2.2%. "Our expectations are consistent with an economy that will continue along the path of steady, modest recovery into the first half of 2014," said Jim McNerney, chairman of the Business Roundtable and chairman, president and CEO of Boeing. In a question posed annually in the fourth quarter, 39% of respondents cited regulatory costs of the top cost pressure facing their business over the next six months, followed by labor and health care costs.
