Previous backers e.ventures and Menlo Ventures also took part in the round, which is the largest ever for a food startup. With the funding, the company has announced plans to expand into the Seattle market this summer. "Work is already well underway building our state of the art kitchen, and we can't wait to call the Emerald City our second home," the company wrote in a blog post. Launched in 2010, Munchery has served more than 580,000 meals from 50 local chefs. https://munchery.com http://blog.munchery.com/ _____________________________________________ o San Francisco-Based Zendesk Files to Raise Up to $150 Million in IPO San Francisco -- Zendesk, the San Francisco-based developer of a customer service platform, has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to raise up to $150 million in its initial public offering (IPO). The company, which plans to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "ZEN," hasn't yet revealed details of the offering, such as the number of shares to be sold or their expected price range. To come up with the rankings, the publication built a database of more than 400,000 Instagram photos tagged "selfie" that included geographic coordinates. All told, the list included 459 cities. San Francisco had 91 selfie-takers per 100,000 people, putting it well behind rankings-leader Makati City and Pasig, Philippines, which had 258 per 100,000. Manhattan; Miami; Anaheim and Santa Ana, Calif.; and Petaling Jaya, Malaysia rounded out the top five. San Jose came in at No. 91. The number of IT jobs grew 0.38% to 4.62 million, with the industry adding 107,500 workers over the past year. Engineering jobs, meanwhile, grew at a far less brisk pace, up 0.09% to 2.49 million. "While engineering jobs grew at a more tepid rate in line with the overall U.S. job market, IT employment finished the first quarter on a strong note," said Mark Roberts, CEO of the TechServe Alliance.
