Deerfield, Adage Capital Management, Redmile Group, Rock Springs Capital, Sabby Capital, Cowen & Company and two unidentified health care funds joined previous backers in the round. The company said it will use the proceeds to advance its clinical programs in retinal disorders. After first overtaking Apple in terms of market share at the end of last year, Android in the first quarter jumped ahead of the company with 42.8% of traffic, compared with Apple's 38.2%. The platform also is slowly increasing its mobile ad monetization, now accounting for more than 33% of revenue, up over 6% from a year ago. Among device makers, Samsung emerged as the clear winner in the Android devices market with more than 60% of impressions, followed by LG, Motorola, HTC and ZTE.
