Previous backers Benchmark, Greylock Partners, Insight Ventures, Trinity Ventures and Jerry Yang also participated in the round, which the company will use to drive adoption of its platform and expand its ecosystem of application developers, system administrators, platform providers and technology partners. Bill Coughran, who joined Sequoia after eight years as a senior vice president of engineering at Google, will represent Sequoia on the Docker board. Launched in early 2013, Docker is an open platform that enables any application to be created and run as a collection of containers that work across virtually any infrastructure. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ST last year decided to discontinue the products, which are based on its DisplayPort technology. "MegaChips America has been actively developing products that enable high-speed communications to bring multimedia to the home and the smart connectivity products based on DisplayPort technology will enable that content to be easily shared and played on a variety of systems," said Koichi Akeyama, the company's president. The organization's Q3 CEO Economic Outlook Index decreased to 86.4 from 95.4 in the previous quarter, with expectations for 2014 GDP growth remaining roughly the same at 2.4%. "While some U.S. economic indicators are improving moderately, the results from our survey of CEOs seem to reflect an underperforming U.S. economy held back by policy uncertainty and growing conflicts around the world," said Randall Stephenson, chairman of the Business Roundtable and CEO of AT&T.
