Foster City, Calif. -- Visa, the Foster City-based credit card giant, said on Friday it will acquire Mountain View-based TrialPay, developer of an offers platform that connects merchants with consumers through targeted promotions. Financial terms of the deal, expected to be completed by the end of June, were not disclosed. Visa said it plans to integrate TrialPay into its product portfolio as a way to help merchants acquire customers, drive traffic and increase sales by reaching cardholders with targeted offers. "TrialPay will strengthen our loyalty and offers platform, which we expect to become a strategic and competitive differentiator," said Ramon Martin, Visa's senior vice president of merchant sales and solutions. TrialPay has approximately 60 employees.

o Mountain View-Based Omnicell to Acquire MACH4 Pharma Systems

Mountain View, Calif. -- Omnicell, the Mountain View-based provider of medication and supply management tools to healthcare systems and pharmacies, said it will acquire Germany-based MACH4 Pharma Systems, a developer of automated medication management systems. Financial terms of the deal, expected to close by midyear, were not disclosed. "The expanded Omnicell portfolio will include innovative solutions that span robotic medication management systems, automated dispensing cabinets and medication adherence technology," said Randall Lipps, the chairman, president and CEO of Omnicell. MACH4 Pharma boasts more than 1,000 retail and hospital pharmacy customers primarily in Europe, with additional installations in China and the Middle East.

o Santa Clara-Based MoSys Prices $18.5 Million Public Offering

Santa Clara, Calif. -- MoSys, a Santa Clara-based developer of semiconductors for network and communications systems, on Friday priced a public offering that the company expects to generate $18.5 million in net proceeds. The company is selling 12.5 million shares for $1.60 each, plus up to 1.9 additional shares to cover overallotments. Chief executive Len Perham and COO Thomas Riordan have agreed to purchase just over 400,000 of the shares. The offering is expected to close on March 4, with MoSys using the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including working capital.

He succeeds Dan Foster, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Hoffman previously spent eight years as the COO of Speakeasy, prior to its 2010 merger with MegaPath and Covad. Most recently, he served as the COO of Layered Technologies.

o Study: Fremont Named Third Best City for Women in Tech

New York -- Though most people think of Silicon Valley as the world's tech capital, the area boasts just one of the "Top 15 Cities for Women in Tech," according to a new study by SmartAsset. Fremont ranks No. 3 on the list, with the study's highest median income after housing cost ($69,217). Other factors considered include the percentage of tech jobs filled by women (27.8%), three-year employment growth (44%) and gender pay gap (86.7%). "Income after housing costs for tech-industry women in Fremont is over $69,000, second highest of any city in our study," the publication wrote. "There has also been especially strong job growth in Fremont for women in tech: from 2,770 in 2010, up to nearly 4,000 in 2013." Washington, DC tops the rankings, followed by Kansas City, Mo.
