o Skyworks to Acquire Sunnyvale-Based PMC-Sierra for $2 Billion in Cash

Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Skyworks Solutions, a Massachusetts-based developer of analog semiconductors, said on Tuesday it will pay $2 billion in cash to acquire Sunnyvale-based PMC-Sierra, a semiconductor and software company focused on data storage, optical and mobile networks. "Together, we plan to develop a wider range of leading-edge solutions for our customers, target new growth vectors and enable some of the most exciting networking and storage platforms in the world," said Greg Lang, the president and CEO of PMC.
