Menlo Park, Calif. -- Forty percent of businesses are willing to offer extra incentives to their employees, according to a new survey by Menlo Park-based staffing firm Robert Half. Chief Financial Officers interviewed said they are more open to negotiating non-monetary perks, such as additional vacation days and health and wellness benefits. Those in Chicago (51%), DC (48%) and Boston (47%) topped the list. "Nonmonetary perks can serve as a differentiator when trying to attract top talent in today's competitive hiring environment, especially for smaller companies," said Paul McDonald, senior executive director at Robert Half. "It's important for businesses to ask employees what perks they value most and clearly promote the firm's offerings. Many companies undersell these benefits." http://rhfa.mediaroom.com/file.php/1715/RH_1215_GRAPH_perks.jpg _____________________________________________ o Briefly Noted: (San Jose, Calif.)
