o San Francisco-Based Sunverge Energy Lands $36,5M in Third Round

San Francisco -- Sunverge Energy, the San Francisco-based developer of a distributed energy storage and management appliance, said it has landed $36.5 million in its third round of funding, led by new investor AGL Energy Ltd., Australia's largest publicly traded energy retailer. Previous backers including the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), SBCVC, Siemens Venture Capital and Total Energy Ventures International also participated. As part of its investment, AGL will become the exclusive channel partner for the sales of Sunverge's energy storage systems in Australia. Founded in 2009, Sunverge makes appliances comprised of storage batteries, power electronics and system-management software running in the cloud.
