San Jose, Calif. -- PayPal, the San Jose-based payment technology giant, on Tuesday named Sri Shivananda as its senior vice president and chief technology officer (CTO), effective April 1. Since the separation, he has served as PayPal's vice president of GPI. With Barrese's departure, PayPal said it will realign responsibilities within the company. As CTO, Shivananda will oversee the company's platform and infrastructure, while its payments and identity teams will move under the product and engineering organization.
