o Newark-Based Replay Technologies Lands $13.5 Million in Second Round

Newark, Calif. -- Replay Technologies, a Newark-based developer of multi-dimensional video technology for viewers of sporting events, said on Wednesday it has raised $13.5 million in its second round of funding, led by Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners. The company said it will use the funds to bolster the use of its technology in the U.S. and Europe, and plans to expand into more sporting events and other types of live entertainment. "This investment will allow us to move faster than ever to turn our vision for the future of video into reality," said co-founder and CEO Oren Yogev. "The combination of VR gear and our unique content will allow viewers to completely immerse themselves into a sports broadcast alongside -- and often in a more immersive way -- than those on the ground." Replay is the developer of Free Dimensional Video (FreeDTM), which allows viewers to see and experience real-life scenes through immersive camera views from multiple angles. The company now has raised $27 million since its inception.

o Study: California Among Riskiest States for E-Commerce Fraud

Costa Mesa, Calif. -- Florida is the overall riskiest state for e-commerce billing fraud, followed by Delaware; Washington, DC; Oregon and California, according to a new report from Experian. The company analyzed millions of e-commerce transactions from 2015 data to identify fraud attack rates. The company said that many of the higher-risk areas are located near large ports-of-entry, including Miami; Portland, Ore. and Washington, DC, perhaps allowing criminals to move stolen goods more effectively. "Fraud follows the path of least resistance," said Adam Fingersh, general manager and senior vice president of Experian Fraud & Identity Solutions. "With more shipping and billing options available to create a better customer experience, criminals attempt to exploit any added convenience."
