Oakland - Roofstock, the Oakland-based developer of an online marketplace and transaction platform for the single-family rental sector, said on Monday it has raised $20 million in its second round of funding, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Previous backers Khosla Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Nyca Partners, QED Investors and SV Angel also took part in the round, which increased the company's total funding to $33.25 million since its founding last year. Roofstock has developed a proprietary marketplace for investors to find, evaluate and invest in single-family rentals online. Since its public launch in March, the company has expanded to serve 10 markets. "The response to the Roofstock marketplace since our public launch earlier this year has been extremely encouraging," said co-founder and CEO Gary Beasley. o Survey: Facebook Usage Growing, Other Social Media Sites Stagnant
Washington, DC -- Nearly eight in 10 online Americans now use Facebook, more than double the share that uses Twitter (24%), Pinterest (31%), Instagram (32%) or LinkedIn (29%), according to a new survey from the Pew Research Center. The share who say they use Facebook has increased 7% since 2015, thanks in part to the growing number of older adults who are joining the site. The number of users on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and LinkedIn, however, has remained largely the same over the past year. Pew also said that roughly three-quarters of Facebook users (76%) visit the site daily, compared to 51% of Instagram users, 42% of Twitter users, 25% of Pinterest users and 18% of LinkedIn users.
