The company paid $1.8 million in cash and 530,000 shares of stock, and will assume approximately $3 million in Integrio's debt. o San Francisco-Based Zipongo Acquires FillMyFork

San Francisco -- Zipongo, the San Francisco-based developer of a digital nutrition platform, said on Tuesday it has acquired the team and assets of FillMyFork, a San Francisco-based provider of healthy cooking recommendations, nutrition rewards, tracking of grocery purchases and related analytics. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Zipongo said the acquisition will help it expand its Food Benefits Management offering to health plans, employers and health systems. Founded in 2014 by Arun Nijhawan and Kartik Shastri, FillMyFork awards users incentive "points" for healthy food choices at the grocery store and removes points for unhealthy choices. Points can be converted into gift cards for Whole Foods, Starbucks or other retailers. "The FillMyFork team pushed the boundaries on passive tracking of food buying, and rewarding healthy food purchases," said Zipongo CEO Jason Langheier. "Kartik and Arun bring a strong focus on the science of effective product development, and knowledge of the food and nutrition data that underlies the healthy cooking utility tools we are continuously evolving."

o Cyber Monday Smashes Single-Day Online Sales Record

San Jose, Calif. -- Cyber Monday generated an estimated $3.39 billion in online sales, smashing the all-time single-day sales record, according to new figures from San Jose-based Adobe. The figure was up 10% from Cyber Monday in 2015, and surpassed this year's Black Friday by about $50 million. "Cyber Monday is on track to be the biggest online shopping day ever, surpassing our forecast by almost $27 million or 0.8%," said Tamara Gaffney, principal analyst at Adobe Digital Insights. "This indicates that consumers still had more appetite for online shopping despite the incredible volume of online sales on Black Friday. Prices are expected to start climbing after today as retailers shift attention to extend the season late into December with quick shipping deals and the option to click and collect in store." Adobe said it generates the figures by measuring 80% of all online transactions from the top 100 U.S. retailers, then uses a predictive model to fill in the blanks.
