o S.F.-Based Periscope Data Lands $25 Million in Second Round

San Francisco -- Periscope Data, the San Francisco-based developer of a data analysis platform designed specifically for data scientists, said it has landed $25 million in its second round of funding, led by Bessemer Venture Partners. Previous backers Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Susa Ventures, Innovation Endeavors and AngelPad also participated in the round, which the company will use to add new talent and move into new markets. Ethan Kurzweil, a partner at Bessemer, will join the company's board of directors. Periscope Data's platform is designed to let data scientists more quickly investigate critical business issues and recommend strategic changes. "Our offering exponentially increases the speed and impact of data analysis," said co-founder and CEO Harry Glaser. The company, which also raised $9.5 million in its first round last year, boasts more than 600 customers, including Salesforce, Apigee, New Relic, SurveyMonkey and ProductHunt.

Mountain View, Calif. -- Treasure Data, the Mountain View-based developer of a cloud platform designed to instantly collect and unify data from varied sources, said it has raised $25 million in its third round of funding. SBI and Japan's INCJ co-led the round, which also included participation from previous backers Scale Venture Partners, Sierra Ventures, AME Cloud Ventures, Dentsu, IT-Farm and Bill Tai. The company, which now has raised $54 million since its inception, said it will use the latest proceeds to support the market launch of its new Live Data Management platform. "Data is today's strategic weapon for competitive advantage, proven by the most successful algorithm-driven businesses like Google, Netflix, Amazon and Facebook," said co-founder and CEO Hiro Yoshikawa. Palo Alto, Calif. -- indeni, the Palo Alto-based developer of a crowd-sourced and machine learning network operations platform, said on Tuesday it has raised $10 million in a new round of funding from Sequoia Capital, iAngels and CIRtech. The company will use the proceeds to expand sales and marketing activities and bolster product development. indeni has developed a platform that monitors devices from vendors such as Blue Coat, Check Point, Cisco, F5 and Palo Alto Networks. It's designed to let clients anticipate network outages before they become major events and avoid downtime. "We are providing unprecedented visibility to network health making it easier for organizations to complete their projects on time," said CEO Yoni Leitersdorf. "This round of funding will help us help us to do more, for more people, and cement our position as the leader in this space."
