Mountain View, Calif. -- Synopsys, the Mountain View-based developer of electronic design automation software, said on Monday it will acquire Virginia-based Cigital and Boston-based Codiscope, which spun off from Cigital a year ago. Financial terms of the deals, expected to close by December, were not disclosed. Cigital provides software security services, while Codiscope offers complementary security tools. Synopsys said the acquisition will allow it to offer a comprehensive software security signoff tool. San Francisco -- Fillr, a developer of autofill technology with offices in Australia and San Francisco, said late Monday it has raised $3.9 million in its first round of funding. Participants included SoftBank China Capital, Southern Cross Venture Partners and Reinventure. Fillr said it will use the proceeds to expand its presence in North America, Europe and Asia. The company has created cloud-based artificial intelligence that uses advanced machine-learning to power a data exchange platform that can be used for any payment, checkout or data transaction on the Internet. Santa Clara, Calif. -- Coherent, a Santa Clara-based developer of lasers and laser-based technology, said on Monday it has completed its $942 million acquisition of Germany's Rofin-Sinar Technologies, a developer of industrial laser sources and laser-based tools and components. The company based $32.50 a shared under the deal, first announced in March. As a result of the acquisition, Rofin's stock will no longer trade on the Nasdaq Stock Market or Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
