o San Francisco-Based Okta Files to Raise Up to $100 Million in IPO

San Francisco -- Okta, the San Francisco-based developer of a cloud-based identity service that lets users securely access 5,000 apps from any device, late Monday filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to raise up to $100 million in its initial public offering (IPO). Details of the offering, such as the number of shares to be sold or their expected price range, have not bee disclosed. The company plans to list its stock under the symbol "OKTA" on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Allen and Co. are listed as lead underwriters. Okta is backed primarily by Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures and Sequoia. The news comes a week after Okta announced its acquisition of San Mateo-based Stormpath, a provider of identity management for apps and APIs.

o San Jose-Based Innovium Raises $38.3 Million in Third Round

San Jose, Calif. -- Innovium, a San Jose-based developer of networking silicon technology for data centers, said on Tuesday it has raised $38.3 million in its third round of funding, led by Redline Capital. Greylock Partners, Walden Riverwood Ventures, Capricorn Investment Group, Qualcomm Ventures and S-Cubed Capital also took part in the round, which the company will use, in part, to accelerate the commercialization of its switch silicon products, designed to enable autonomous and programmable large-scale data center networks. Tatiana Evtushenkova, CEO and managing director of Redline Capital, has joined the company's board of directors. Innovium now has raised $90 million since its inception.

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Cardiva Medical, a Santa Clara-based developer of medical devices focused on vascular closure, said on Tuesday it has raised $30 million in a new round of funding. Participants included affiliates of Luther King Capital Management, as well as previous backers PTV Healthcare Capital and the Canepa Advanced Healthcare Fund. The company said it will use the proceeds to continue the commercial expansion of its Vascade Vascular Closure System, as well as to fund new closure technologies in development. "Our mission is focused on reducing access site complications for the millions of patients who undergo vascular procedures each year," said John Russell, Cardiva's president and CEO. "This financing will enable us to fully execute our commercial growth and development programs."

o San Mateo-Based Unifi Software Raises $17.5 Million in Second Round

San Mateo, Calif. -- Unifi Software, the San Mateo-based developer of a self-service data discovery and preparation platform for business analysts, said on Tuesday it has raised $17.5 million in its second round of funding, led by Scale Venture Partners. Previous backers Canaan Partners and Pelion Partners also contributed to the round, which increased the company's total funding since its inception to $32 million. "This investment will allow us to accelerate development, expand our sales team and market awareness to realize that vision sooner," said CEO Rob Carlson. Unify's platform uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to predict what business users want to visualize, then connect the resulting data to a business intelligence tool. Clients include AT Kearney, Boston Biomedical, Compassion First, Essentra, Havas, Microsoft, MoneyGram, Sabre and West County Health Centers. The company said it's on track to surpass 300 customers by the end of this year.

o San Jose-Based Prysm Acquires San Francisco-Based Kaybus

San Jose, Calif. -- Prysm, the San Jose-based developer of a cloud-based visual workplace platform that lets users explore data, content, applications and tools on hyper-visual digital canvases, said on Tuesday it has acquired San Francisco-based Kaybus, a developer of knowledge automation software for enterprises. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company said the acquisition will bolster its core technology by enhancing security, language flexibility, search functionality and sign-on security. New functionality is expected to begin appearing in the Prysm Application Suite starting in the third quarter. All Kaybus employees, based primarily in California and India, will join Prysm.
