o Mountain View-Based Livongo Health Raises $52.5 Million in Funding

Mountain View, Calif. -- Livongo Health, a Mountain View-based consumer digital health company focused on chronic conditions, said on Thursday it has raised $52.5 million in a new round of funding, co-led by General Catalyst and Kinnevik. EDBI, American Investment Holdings and Microsoft Ventures also contributed, along with all of the company's prior investors. Livongo said the round will position it for growth in diabetes management, and allow it to expand to other chronic conditions, as well as expand to international markets. "In addition to diabetes, we're focused on extending our program to support other chronic conditions like hypertension and to continue to deliver an experience that our members love while improving clinical results and lowering costs," said CEO Glen Tullman. "This new funding will accelerate our investments in R&D and expansion of our rules engine from 10,000 to more than 100,000 rules, allowing us to completely personalize the experience our members have." Livongo's program combines technology with coaching, offering members with real-time, personalized support to make diabetes management easier.
