o San Bruno-Based Sapho Lands $14 Million in Second Round

San Bruno, Calif. -- Sapho, the San Bruno-based developer of an enterprise workforce portal designed to give employees key information they need to complete work faster and make better decisions, said on Wednesday it has raised $14 million in its second round of funding. Caffeinated Capital led the round, which also included participation from new investor Felicis Ventures and previous backers Alsop Louie Partners, SoftTech VC, Morado Ventures, AME Cloud and Bloomberg Beta. The company said it will sue the proceeds to build a global sales team and further bolster its platform. Sapho's portal technology surfaces relevant tasks and data using micro apps delivered to any device, intranet or messenger. "While today's enterprise systems of record are great at storing and manipulating data, they are not great at presenting that data and associated work flows back to employees in an easy-to-use way," said co-founder and CEO Fouad ElNaggar. "If employees hate the front end and refuse to use them, the systems themselves become useless for a majority of workers." Clients include Boral, HCL and Turner Broadcast Systems.

This IoT revolution is quickly catching up to its hype by transforming businesses across many sectors. The value of IoT technology has become imperative, and growing demand is fueling tremendous acquisition interest from a diverse range of buyers, pushing competition higher and accelerating consolidation in the space.
