Elliott also said it plans to invest additional capital into the company to support growth, both organically and through acquisitions. ASG, led by CEO Charles Sansbury, has developed software products focused on content management, systems management, workspaces and enterprise data intelligence. Wikipedia Co-Founder Launches New Site to Help Combat "Fake News"

London -- Hoping to curb the growing problem of online "fake news," the co-founder of Wikipedia on Tuesday launched a new spinoff site that aims to fact-check articles. The site, Wikitribune, will pair professional journalists with volunteers assigned to vet them for accuracy. "This will be the first time that professional journalists and citizen journalists will work side-by-side as equals writing stories as they happen, editing them live as they develop, and at all times backed by a community checking and rechecking all facts," founder Jimmy Wales told the U.K. Guardian. Wales said the inspiration for the site came from Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway's reference to "alternative facts." The site, which will be supported by a crowd-funding campaign, plans to cover issues such as U.S. and U.K. politics, as well as an array of science and technology issues. The new site is not affiliated with the San Francisco-based Wikimedia Foundation, which operates Wikipedia.

o Survey: Dealmakers Expecting Tech M&A Activity to Accelerate

San Francisco -- Following a slowdown in technology M&A deals during the first quarter, deal activity is expected to accelerate over the remainder of 2017, according to a new survey of more than 150 executives and investment bankers by Morrison & Foerster. More than half the respondents (52%) still expect deal flow to top last year's levels, while 54% forecast an increase in private equity activity, as well. "The survey forecast represents the most bullish outlook in two years," said Robert Townsend, the co-chair of Morrison & Foerster's Global M&A Practice Group. "The slight slowdown in Q1 activity is almost entirely attributable to less shopping by corporate acquirers. Still, we are encouraged by the optimism around tech M&A in the U.S. for the rest of the year." Complete survey results are available at the link below.
