The company said its platform is designed to continuously crawl through a client's enterprise systems, uncovering opportunities to improve financial and business performance in real-time. It then proactively engages with relevant users to make changes, when warranted. Frederic Laluyaux, Aera's president and CEO, called the technology "a cognitive operating system that connects you with your business and autonomously orchestrates your operations." Laluyaux previously served as the CEO of Anaplan.

Menlo Park, Calif. -- Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), a Menlo Park-based venture capital firm investing in consumer, enterprise and healthcare technology companies, said it has promoted Charles Birnbaum, Amit Karp and Kristina Shen to partner. Birnbaum. who joined the firm's New York office in 2013, and currently serves on the board of Zopa, United Capital, Fabric, Spruce and Eave. Karp has been with the firm since 2012, working out of Israel for the past three years. He currently serves on the board of otonomo and ScyllaDB. Shen joined BVP in 2013, and is the firm's lead on the boards of Glint, DoubleDutch and Retail Solutions. "Each of them has demonstrated deep sector knowledge and a keen ability to spot standout companies early," said Ed Colloton, Bessemer's chief operating officer (COO). Reston, Va. -- Mobile apps developed by Facebook and Google-parent Alphabet hold the top six spots in comScore's newly released list of the top smartphone apps in the U.S., based on audience reach. Facebook tops the rankings, appearing on 75.7% of all smartphones used by adults, with Facebook Messenger, the social media giant's instant messaging tool, right behind it at 67.5%. o Survey: Tech Hiring Expected to Increase in for Rest of '17

Menlo Park, Calif. -- Technology hiring in the U.S. is expected to increase for the remainder of this year, according to a new IT hiring forecast from Robert Half Technology. All told, 21% of chief information officers (CIOs) surveyed say they plan to add full-time technology professionals to their teams during the second half of 2017 -- up 5% from a survey conducted in December. An additional 64% expect to maintain staff levels by filling vacant roles, and 63% say it's somewhat or very challenging to find skilled IT professionals in today's market. "It's a good time to be a job seeker in the tech industry," said John Reed, senior executive director of Robert Half Technology. "For employers, however, hiring remains a challenge in today's competitive market. Tech leaders must make recruiting and retention a priority to attract and secure top talent." Respondents said that skills greatest in demand include: database management (53%), Windows administration (53%), desktop support (52%) network administration (51%) and wireless network management (51%).
