o San Francisco-Based Stride Health Raises $23.5 Million in Second Round

San Francisco -- Stride Health, the San Francisco-based developer of a health insurance recommendation engine designed to connect independent workers to insurance plans, said on Tuesday it has raised $23.5 million in its second round of funding. F-Prime Capital Partners led the round, which also included participation from previous backers Venrock and New Enterprise Associates (NEA), as well as new investor Portag3 Ventures. Launched in 2014, Stride Health helps independent workers build a personal set of benefits tailored to their needs. In addition to a personalized health plan, the company helps workers predict out-of-pocket healthcare costs, lower the cost of prescription drugs and navigate complex insurance claims. "As individuals transition away from traditional 9-to-5 employment, we're removing the barriers to affordable, accessible benefits," said co-founder and CEO Noah Lang. Ben Malka, a partner at F-Prime Capital, has joined the company's board of directors.
