o San Francisco-Based Qadium Raises $40 Million in Second Round of Funding

San Francisco -- Qadium, the San Francisco-based developer of a subscription service used by large organizations to assess their Internet risks, said on Thursday it has raised $40 million in its second round of funding, led by IVP. New investor TPG Growth and prior investors New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Founders Fund, Susa Ventures and angels also participated in the round, which the company will use to bolster its sales and marketing activities and grow its engineering and product teams. Qadium indexes every device on the public Internet every hour, similar to how search companies crawl web pages. It uses this data to continually monitor the Internet, developing comprehensive information about all of an organization's Internet-facing risks. Those risks include shadow IT, misconfigurations in cloud hosting, unauthorized or unmonitored Internet of Things (IoT) equipment, regional offices and subsidiaries violating policy and "lost" devices due to M&A events. Qadium previously raised a $20 million in its first round, led by NEA in 2016. "Prior rounds were a bet on the vision that we'd be able to monetize persistent monitoring of the entire Internet's surface area," said co-founder and CEO Tim Junio. "Since then, our sharp uptick in initial sales affirms our intuition was on the right track." Customer include CVS, PayPal, Capital One, Allergan and Fluor.

o Study: Only 25% of Employees Believe Their Colleagues Behave Ethically

Arlington, Va. -- Only 25% of employees believe their colleagues behave ethically, according to a new study from CEB. The company surveyed 5,000 employees on drivers of culture in the workplace, and found that the vast majority believe their teammates engage in and model the wrong behaviors. Despite a recent focus on improving corporate culture, over the past eight years there has been less than a 1% drop in the number of employees who observed misconduct at their organizations. "Employees today do not believe their companies are any more ethical than they were eight years ago," said Brian Lee, compliance practice leader at CEB. "Most companies' top-down approach to improving corporate integrity and culture -- focused on senior leaders' messages and tone -- is clearly not enough to create change."
