o San Jose-Based Restoration Robotics Prices IPO, Shares Spike 42%

San Jose, Calif. -- Shares of San Jose-based Restoration Robotics spiked nearly 42% on Thursday, hours after the developer of a robotic hair restoration system raised $25 million in its initial public offering (IPO). The company late Wednesday priced 3.575 million shares at $7 each -- the low end of its expected range of $7-$9. o San Francisco-Based Spruce Biosciences Raises $20 Million, Hires Executives

San Francisco -- Spruce Biosciences, a San Francisco-based biotechnology company developing therapies for rare endocrine disorders, on Thursday disclosed that it raised $20 million in its first round of funding last year, led by Novo Holdings. RiverVest Venture Partners also contributed to the round, which the company is using to expand its leadership team and advance its lead product candidate, SPR001, into advanced clinical trials. Earlier this year, the company named Mike Grey as executive chairman and Michael Huang as chief medical officer.
