o LivingSocial Launches Restaurant Service Nationwide

Washington, DC -- Daily deals giant LivingSocial on Thursday announced the national launch of its new restaurant service, known as Takeout & Delivery. The service, which lets subscribers view menus and order food for pickup or delivery through LivingSocial's website or mobile app, is rolling out in 26 markets, including Oakland, San Francisco and the San Francisco Peninsula. "Consumer adoption of new technologies works best when it simplifies something they were already doing," said Greg Mazanec, general manager of the new service. "Consumers aren't pulling their phones out to search for the nearest real-time discount on a car inspection or framing service. They are, however, looking for a faster and better way to order food from their favorite local restaurants." The company said Takeout & Delivery will take the place of its Instant service.
