Previous backer RTP Ventures, the U.S. arm of ru-Net Holdings, also participated. The company plans to use the new capital to expand its sales, marketing and new product development activities. Geoff Baehr, managing partner of Almaz Capital, has joined the company's board. The unit, known as WSO2 Federal Systems, will offer the company's open source computing technology to government, intelligence, law enforcement and defense clients. Jonathan Marsh, who has served as WSO2's vice president of business development, will head the unit as CEO, with Adam Firestone serving as director of solutions.
