Mellanox first announced plans for the all-cash deal in May. Mellanox said the acquisition will bolster its ability to deliver high-speed networks with next generation optical connectivity. Schneck, a frequent congressional witness on isses involving cyber security technology and policy, was named Deputy Undersecretary for Cyber Security. She is expected to start next month, succeeding Bruce McConnell, who announced plans to step down from his interim role in July. "Unfortunately, with these changes we are announcing today, we will be reducing a substantial number of Patch positions."
