o Sunnyvale-Based Yahoo Unveils First New Logo in 18 Years

Sunnyvale, Calif. -- After experimenting with 30 different logos over the past month, Sunnyvale-based Yahoo has now unveiled its new corporate identity. The new logo, available at the links below, pays homage to Yahoo's previous logo, which the company hadn't changed in 18 years. "We knew we wanted a logo that reflected Yahoo -- whimsical, yet sophisticated. Modern and fresh, with a nod to our history," wrote CEO Marissa Mayer. Mayer said she personally spent a weekend earlier this summer working on the redesign with designers Bob Stohrer, Marc DeBartolomeis, Russ Khaydarov and intern Max Ma. "We spent the majority of Saturday and Sunday designing the logo from start to finish, and we had a ton of fun weighing every minute detail," wrote Mayer.
