Sequoia Capital, Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures and Allen & Co. took part in the round, which will fuel international expansion, according to The Wall Street Journal. Founded in 2011, Stripe is challenging PayPal in the online payments space with what it calls a "developer-focused, instant-setup payment platform." Clients include Rackspace, Shopify, Reddit, Foursquare, DailyMotion and Lyft. Josh Elman of Greylock will join the company's board of directors. "Jelly is a small team with modest capital requirements and we intend to keep things that way while growing a global service that changes how we find answers," wrote Stone in a blog post. Jelly's app, available for iOS and Android devices, uses photos and people from users' social networks to find answers to search queries. The idea is that either a friend or friend of a friend will have the answer. "Our aspiration is to create a new way to search and to make it easy for people to help one another," wrote Stone. The package includes approximately 1,400 granted patents and pending patent applications from the U.S., as well as another 1,000 patents and applications from overseas.
