The fund, known as DCM Fund VII, will continue the firm's strategy of investing in early-stage mobile, digital media, ecommerce and consumer and enterprise services companies in the U.S., China and Japan. Though financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Fortune reported that Flipboard paid more than the $20 million that CNN had paid for Zite in 2011. Flipboard said it plans to integrate Zite's personalization technology and recommendation engine, and also has forged a multifaceted partnership with CNN, designed to help the cable network expand its mobile reach. Srinivasan most recently served as the company's executive vice president and COO, and previously was the vice president of marketing and worldwide sales development at Mirapoint. The company has yet to announce specific details of the offering, such as the number of shares to be sold or their expected price range. It plans to list its stock on the NASDAQ Global Market under the symbol "ADMS." The case, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleges that 12 manufacturers of DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) chips, including Samsung, Micron, Hynix, Infineon and NEC, artificially inflated prices, forcing consumers to overpay for products.
