Other investors included Innovation Network Corp. of Japan, Nikkei Digital Media, Energy and Environment Investment and GMO Venture Partners. Launched in 2007, Sansan's service transcribes business cards and uploads them into a cloud-based contact management platform. Under the deal, AT&T will pay $95 a share in a combination of cash and stock. The acquisition would make the combined company the nation's second largest pay TV provider, with DirecTV boasting approximately 20.3 million subscribers and AT&T about 5.7 million for its U-verse service. "This is a unique opportunity that will redefine the video entertainment industry and create a company able to offer new bundles and deliver content to consumers across multiple screens -- mobile devices, TVs, laptops, cars and even airplanes," said AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson. It marks the first time the U.S. has filed charges against state-sponsored hackers. "The range of trade secrets and other sensitive business information stolen in this case is significant and demands an aggressive response," said Attorney General Eric Holder. A grand jury in Pennsylvania on Monday inducted the five for computer hacking, economic espionage and other related offenses.
