The company is developing a new technology called software-defined enterprise WAN, which virtualizes enterprise networks and securely brings together users and cloud and data center applications, while reducing remote office infrastructure requirements. CloudGenix said it will use the capital to bring the first version of its product to market and build out its go-to-market strategy. The organization said that smartphone ownership grew 6% to 64% over the past year, surpassing basic cell phones (51%). Several other connected devices also saw big leaps, including Internet-enabled TVs (up 9% to 24%), Blu-ray players (up 8% to 39%), tablets (up 6% to 45%) and portable wireless speakers (up 5% to 30%).
