Benchmark Capital and Index Ventures also took part in the round, which increases the company's total funding to $104 million over the past year and a half. It plans to use the latest funds to bolster marketing and product development activities, and expand its sales organization. The company claims more than 8 million downloads of its core products -- Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana -- counting Comcast, eBay, Facebook, Mayo Clinic, TomTom and Tinder among its clients. Harry Weller, a general partner at NEA, will join the company's board of directors. "It's rare to see a company not only get developers excited by their technology, but also sell successfully into the enterprise, and we see massive opportunities on an even broader scale," said Weller. http://www.elasticsearch.com http://www.elasticsearch.com/blog/press/elasticsearch-raises-70-million-series-c-financing/ _____________________________________________ o San Francisco-Based Twitter to Acquire Namo Media San Francisco -- Twitter said it will acquire San Francisco-based startup Namo Media, a creator of tools designed to let developers ad native ads to mobile apps. "In our conversations with the Namo Media team, it became clear we share a vision for how native advertising can improve the state of mobile app monetization for marketers, app publishers and users." Namo counts Google Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Betaworks, Trinity Ventures and Susa Ventures among its investors. http://www.namomedia.com/ https://blog.twitter.com/2014/welcoming-namo-media-to-the-flock http://blog.namomedia.com/post/87806257997/twitter-to-acquire-namo-media http://techcrunch.com/2014/06/05/twitter-buys-namo-media-to-expand-its-native-ads-offering/ _____________________________________________ o Cupertino-Based Apple Breaks Into Top Five of New Fortune 500 Cupertino, Calif. -- With a 9% jump in revenue from a year ago, Apple has broken into the top five of the newly released Fortune 500, an annual ranking of America's largest corporations, based on revenue.
