o Apple Sells More Than 10 Million New iPhones in First Weekend

Cupertino, Calif. -- Apple said on Monday it has sold more than 10 million new iPhones since their launch Friday, breaking a company record for first-weekend sales. The company unveiled the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models two weeks ago. They are now available in the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the U.K., and will go on sale in 20 more countries Friday. "Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend," said CEO Tim Cook. Both have retina displays and are thinner and more powerful than the iPhone 5S. Prices start at $199 and $299, respectively.
