o Redwood City-Based Synack Raises $25 Million in Second Round

Redwood City, Calif. -- Synack, the Redwood City-based developer of a system to safely crowdsource and manage security testing, said it has raised $25 million in its second round of funding, co-led by GGV Capital and Icon Ventures. Previous backers Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), Google Ventures, Greylock Partners and Allegis Capital, as well as Shape Security CEO Derek Smith, Redseal Networks CEO Ray Rothrock and vArmour CEO Timothy Eades also participated. The company now has raised more than $34 million in less than two years. The company plans to use the proceeds to expand its internal security engineering team, as well as to recruit and certify additional researchers. It also will bolster its R&D efforts and further develop its core platform. Glenn Solomon, managing partner at GGV, and Tom Mawhinney, general partner at Icon Ventures, will join the company's board of directors.

o San Francisco-Based 6sense Raises $20 Million in Second Round

San Francisco -- 6sense, the San Francisco-based developer of a predictive intelligence platform designed to predict who will buy what products when and where, said it has raised $20 million in its second round of funding, led by new investor Bain Capital Ventures. Previous backers Battery Ventures and Venrock also contributed to the round, which increased the company's total funding to $36 million. BCV partner Indy Guha will join the company's board of directors. 6sense said it will use the proceeds to grow its development and data science team, accelerate marketing and sales activities and expand customer engagement in new vertical markets. Founded in 2013 by CEO Amanda Kahlow, the company now counts Cisco, Dell, NetApp, VMware, NetSuite, CSC, Lenovo and CBS Interactive among its clients.

Santa Clara, Calif. -- eASIC, a Santa Clara-based developer of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to raise up to $75 million in its initial public offering (IPO). The company has yet to reveal specific details of the offering, such as the number of shares to be sold or their expected price range. eASIC plans to list its shares on the NASDAQ Global Market under the symbol "EASI." Through the end of 2014, the company had designed more than 200 custom integrated circuits and shipped over 19 million units.

o San Francisco-Based Fabric Lands $1.5 Million in Seed Funding

San Francisco -- Fabric, the San Francisco-based developer of a mobile app that allows users to build want-to lists for entertainment and lifestyle activities, said it has raised $1.5 million in seed funding. Investors included WME, Great Oaks, Manatt and Structure VC, as well as Allen Debevoise of Machinima and angels from RDIO, Wanda, Facebook, Conde Nast, Hulu, Starcom, Motorola, UMG, Disney, King.com and Viacom. The company also has released its inaugural app on the Apple App Store. "We are making doing what you love easier and more fun by inspiring our users to build all their lists in one place and making them social and actionable," said founder and CEO Jon Vlassopulos. The current product covers movies, TV, music and travel, with plans to expand into additional categories.
